Key to Life #9

"Keys to Life" is a series I decided to write, based on all the little personal rules and philosophies that I adhere to. This isn't meant to sound preachy. I just feel like sharin' them, that's all.

Key to Life #9:

As I documented before in my Concert List, I've been to more than a few shows in my lifetime. I started when I was 16 by seeing 7 Mary 3 and The Verve Pipe at the Pompano Beach Ampitheater. The power went out sometime during 7 Mary 3's set, so the singer grabbed an acoustic guitar, and sang to the audience. It's still one of the classiest things I've seen at a show.

Ever since that night, I fell in love with live shows. Good or bad, big or small, it doesn't matter to me. Concerts can be such a great experience, from the light show to the musicianship to the stage performance.

As I've gotten older, I've lost my concert friends, and life kinda gets in the way of seeing all of the shows I'd like to go to. I did, however, get to see my favorite band, The Deftones, two nights in a row, which I've wanted to do for years. And, as always, it was amazing. Multiplied by two. I made the plans, got the tickets, and found the time to go.

And the next time your favorite band or musical act comes to town, I recommend you do the same. It's always worth it.
